Salary: Grade H. Scale 29 - \xc2\xa335,411 to Scale 34 - \xc2\xa340,478 with a professional bar at SCP 31 \xc2\xa337,261**

Hours: 36 hours per week

Base Location: The Denton Centre, Acre Street, Denton, M34 2BW

The role

In Tameside Children\xe2\x80\x99s Services permanence planning is a key focus for us and we want to ensure that all of our children have an achievable permanence plan that reflects their emotional and legal needs. In response to this, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Social Worker to join the Discharge of Care Team that is based within the Cared for Children Service.

The work in Tameside is varied and you will have opportunities to learn new skills, gain experience, and to progress in your career.

About you

You will be an experienced Social Worker who will specialise in completing assessments to discharge care orders for children who are placed at home with their parents alongside special guardianship assessments of children placed with foster carers or connected carers. You will support court applications through written evidence and attendance at court.

You will be an experienced practitioner with good assessment skills and some experience of court work. You will be skilled in working alongside colleagues to ensure that the best outcomes are achieved for our cared for children.

This post is a designated customer facing role under the fluency duty and requires a specified level of spoken English in the person specification.

All appointments will be to the bottom salary point in the grade with annual incremental progression each April until the grade maximum is reached. Where an individual can provide evidence that their existing salary in a relevant role surpasses the grade starting salary, a higher entry salary will be considered, subject to the professional grade development criteria also being met if that point is higher than the bar point.

1. Relevant professional qualification for the job role at Level 6 or above, AND

2. Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in the role, AND
