Job Description

Medway is a Good-rated Local Authority by Ofsted, and we are seeking an experienced Fostering Form F Assessor to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background and interest in fostering services, particularly in completing robust Form F assessments and supporting the recruitment of foster carers.


Experience or knowledge of Private Fostering and the Supported Homes would be advantageous.

About the role




We are looking for a candidate with a sound and through understanding of fostering recruitment and assessment process, and ideally some experience in managing Private Fostering cases and Supported Homes Host. We are looking you to bring an innovative approach to engaging and assessing prospective foster carers, along with a working knowledge of fostering regulations and standards.


The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for prospective foster carers, so the ability to deliver a professional and welcoming first impression is essential. You will:

Undertake Form F assessments Participate in marketing and recruitment events Handle initial enquiries and Initial Home visits and registration of interest Provide clear, factual information and guidance to prospective carers Support individuals in understanding the impact of fostering on their personal circumstances You will also be responsible for managing duty enquiries, ensuring timely responses, conducting initial home visits, and supporting the monitoring of applications and Stage 1 and Stage 2 processes. Taking them to panel. Facilitating pre panel and post panel trainings and inductions. Additional knowledge and experience on Private Fostering and Supported Homes is helpful.

About you



Qualified Social Worker (CQSW, DipSW or equivalent) Registered with Social Work England Demonstrable post-qualifying experience working with children and families A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes If you are enthusiastic, proactive, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people, we would love to hear from you.
