Job Description
As a Social Worker in the Prevention and Wellbeing team, you will focus on supporting individuals and families to prevent crisis situations, promoting resilience, and improving overall well-being. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver early intervention and preventative strategies tailored to the needs of the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist families to resolve their personal problems and adjust to, or change their social environment to improve quality of life; practicing effectively, exercising higher quality judgements, in situations of increasing complexity, risk, uncertainty and challenge. Assess the need for social work service including the identification of risk and the need for protection determining the method of intervention to manage and minimise risk. Decide or advise on the use of appropriate social care and/or other services and resources. Liaise and negotiate with other professionals, statutory and voluntary agencies to gather information relevant to assessment and planning activities and ensure the best possible service is provided for service users. Manage an allocated workload within individual and council priorities and policies. Comply with the statutory obligations of the council.
Requirements:
A recognised qualification in Social Work (e.g., Degree, Diploma, or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. Experience in prevention and early intervention practices. Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in social care.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: 30.00-35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37 per week
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Widnes WA8
