What you will do:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify risks and develop appropriate support plans.
  • Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring timely interventions to safeguard children at risk.
  • Collaborate with partner agencies, including health, education, and law enforcement, to ensure coordinated and effective support.
  • Implement and review child protection plans in line with the Children's Act 1989 and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
  • Attend and contribute to child protection conferences, core group meetings, and legal proceedings when required.
  • Provide direct support and intervention to children and families, aiming to improve outcomes and reduce risks.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with statutory requirements and local policies.
  • Participate in professional supervision and training to enhance practice and improve service delivery.
Requirements:
  • Qualification: Degree in Social Work (BA, BSc, or equivalent).
  • Registration: Must be registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a safeguarding team or child protection setting is essential.
  • Skills: Strong assessment, decision-making, and communication skills are required.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989/2004, Care Act 2014, and Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018).
