The Opportunity:
We are seeking an inspirational Sociology Teacher to join our dedicated team and support students in achieving top 25% national results. This role offers the chance to work in a collaborative, high-achieving environment focused on A Level and GCSE Sociology. Ideal for early career teachers and those with experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality A Level and GCSE Sociology lessons that inspire student engagement and achievement.
Collaborate with a team of experienced teachers to plan and deliver shared lessons and assessments.
Support students in achieving excellent results and progress, with a focus on academic excellence.
Participate in marking, moderation, and examination processes with strong examining experience.
Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to the school's commitment to teacher growth.
Provide individualised support to students and maintain high expectations for learning and behaviour.
Contribute to the school's enrichment programme and extracurricular activities.
Uphold the school's values of respect, inclusivity, and safeguarding.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
Qualified teacher with experience in teaching A Level and GCSE Sociology.
Commitment to academic achievement and student progress.
Strong communication and classroom management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Experience in a sixth form or school setting.
Preferred
Experience in a high-achieving academic environment.
Background in teacher training or early career teacher with a PGCE.
Experience with developing and delivering enrichment activities.
Demonstrated success in raising student attainment and engagement.
