Soft Furnishings Estimator/sales Assistant

Job Description

Gillies is a Home Furnishings retailer with stores throughout the North and East of Scotland. Employing around 200 employees across our Retail Stores, Warehouses and business support functions, the business is long established and has been in the same family ownership since it started almost 130 years ago.

We are seeking a Curtain & Blind Estimator/Sales Assistant to join our team at our Flagship store in Broughty Ferry, Dundee. The role involves a blend of technical skills, a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of fabrics and design aesthetics. The primary responsibilities include visiting customer homes to provide a measuring service, interpreting design specifications, and providing detailed estimates that align with client's budgets and preferences.

Full time position- working 39.5 hours per week (includes weekend working).

The ideal candidate will join with an understanding of curtains, blinds, and soft furnishings. Have the ability to problem solve and offer advice regarding suitable fabrics. We are looking for someone with a friendly and outgoing personality who enjoys working both in a team and individually. The ideal candidate must be committed, self-motivated and strive to provide a high level of customer service.

Required Skills-



*Experience working with Curtains, Blinds and Soft Furnishings

*Experience providing quotations to customers

*Full Driving Licence

*Customer service experience

Desired Skills-



*Interior design experience

*Familiarity with EPOS systems and Microsoft platforms
