We are looking to recruit a Duty Manager to manage the day-to-day running of the brand new Little Centurions soft play centre based in The Brewery Quarter, Cheltenham. This is the second location for Little Centurions, having opened our first site in Cirencester in 2021.
Our facility offers a toddler area for younger children up to 3yrs old, plus a Roman themed play frame in the UK for ages 4-10yrs including slides, dizzy discs, bash bags, log bridges, balance beams, interactive game panels and sensory play. There is an onsite cafe, offering a selection of locally sourced, meals and cakes, including vegan options.
Our facility is extremely popular due to the interest in the renovation, the reputation of Little Centurions and the excellent location of the new facility, and so we are looking for someone who has experience managing a small team within a fast-paced environment. Someone who is focused, enthusiastic and can motivate their team during the differing busy periods of customer visits. We want to provide a high-quality experience for our visitors and will need our new team-member to lead by example with an excellent customer service mindset. As the facility is open 7-days a week, there will be a need for shift work and flexibility to cover weekends and other team-members holidays.

Team Management
To manage the Little Centurions Receptionist and Cafe Host Team Members
To ensure that the facility is correctly staffed at all times
To monitor any training needs of the team and arrange sessions before any expire
To monitor your team ensuring opening hours are covered, including any late bookings
To conduct regular employee reviews
To work with the HR Director on any employee relations issues
To ensure that all machinery and equipment operated by team-members is done so in a safe and correct manner using all safety devices and practices, providing training and supervision where required
To follow open-up and close-down process for Managers and team members.
Ability to motivate, train and maintain a strong team
Keeping payroll updated on staff shifts covered outside of normal contracted hours
Health & Safety
Responsible for your and the team's awareness of safeguarding including any reporting processes of a breach
Cooperating with any external agency to ensure that statutory requirements concerning Health and Safety are met
To ensure all equipment, facilities and services offered and used are managed under the correct Health & Safety regulation
To assist with regular Health & Safety inspections
To exercise due diligence in relation to Health & Safety, ensuring that the operation complies with all relevant statutory legislation
To ensure safety checks are completed and logged daily
To ensure any H&S breaches or hazards are reported to the owner with urgency
To leave work areas clean and tidy, ensuring hazards are not created during works carried out in the facility
Marketing
To manage and monitor the Little Centurions Cheltenham social media presence to raise our profile within the wider community
Reviewing marketing for the Little Centurions Cheltenham to ensure that we are advertising our facility and effectively promoting any offers
To advertise any upcoming events
To develop special offers and events to agree with the owner, ready for roll-out
To source inexpensive methods of advertising
To engage local business to advertise with us using Affordable Advertising
Facility Management
To control and monitor all assets and stock both fixed and disposal, carrying out stock takes and order where necessary
To periodically review quotes for replacement items both fixed and disposed
To communicate, and report daily status updates on events, maintenance, and staffing to the owner
To monitor and review rates, contracts to ensure we are always paying the most cost-effective prices.
Responsible for safeguarding equipment and stock
To record and document cleaning activities
Able to work within a budget and achieve targets
Will be a key holder and will be added to the emergency call-out list
Will carry out regular cashing up of the daily takings
Training
We require our new team-members to have up to date First Aid and Food Hygiene certificates plus Fire Safety Regulations and Health & Safety in the workplace, however, can also arrange for renewal training on this in readiness for our open date. A clear DBS certificate will also be required and will be organised by us during induction.

Experience of managing a small team, in a fast-paced environment
