SOFT SERVICES MANAGER






Salary: 42,000 - 45,000 per annum




Working Hours: Permanent, Full Time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday




Location: Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford, OX3 7LD






G4S Facilities Management have an exciting opportunity for a Soft Services Manager to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis based at Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford.




We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to manage and inspire the Domestic, Porterage, and Security teams across a critical Healthcare PFI contract. In close support of the Head of Soft FM, you will be crucial in creating beautiful and safe environments that maximize customer satisfaction and deliver an exceptional experience.




Core Responsibilities:






Strategic Development & Compliance


Strategically develop the contract cleaning service to consistently meet SLAs, G4S standards, and Client requirements. Work with the Head of Soft FM/Account Director to monitor and record service activities and performance levels to demonstrate contract compliance, drive efficiencies, and foster continuous improvement. Monitor changes and developments in legislation and working practices that affect cleaning compliance, proactively identifying risks and new opportunities.
Team Management & Development


Recruit, train, monitor, and coordinate a skilled operational team to maximize cleaning efficiency, performance, and safety. Oversee team learning and all HR process requirements, including managing training attendance, absence, retention, time-keeping, quality of work, and behaviour. Work with the team to manage plans and resource service delivery requirements, including contingencies, ensuring contract conditions are always met. Oversee and manage team wages, schedules, timesheets, and Kronos information. Monitor the delivery of general and specialist manual and mechanical cleaning tasks, ensuring strict team compliance with required cleaning methods.
Reporting, Finance & Stakeholder Management


Collate, analyse, and review information (e.g., budgets, hours, forecasts) to monitor and report on financial performance. Monitor and report on overall cleaning service performance and trends, identifying areas for improvement and liaising with internal/external stakeholders to optimise delivery. Develop and maintain an effective client relationship to ensure needs are understood. Act as a point of escalation for all stakeholders as required. Build relationships across all shifts/teams to continuously improve operational knowledge, ensuring all proposed solutions are operationally viable. Operate and contribute as an active member of the Management team, undertaking any other reasonable duties required by the Head of Soft FM/Account Director.


Essential Skills:




Ability to quickly develop an in-depth understanding of complex contract requirements and obligations specific to the relevant service lines. Excellent people management skills and proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing an operational team Demonstrated ability to effectively allocate and monitor workloads to meet demanding contract requirements and SLAs. Good working knowledge of MS Office/Google suite and familiarity with corporate management systems (e.g., CAFM, Kronos). Must be reliable and conscientious with a keen eye for detail to ensure quality and compliance. Maintain an enthusiastic and flexible approach to operational challenges Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) for staff motivation, client liaison, and reporting. Proven experience in a similar managerial role within a healthcare environment (e.g., Hospital PFI or NHS). Must hold IOSH Managing Safely certification and possess a strong understanding of COSHH regulations.
