In our development team, we work together to build secure and reliable solutions that help our customers communicate safely. We are now looking for a Software Developer to join our team in Reading, Berkshire. This role offers hybrid working.



About the job



As a Software Developer, you will work closely with other developers and support staff. Your main job will be to help develop and support our new C# communications platform. This platform is responsible for aggregation, transformation, and delivery of critical alarm signals. Your responsibilities will include:

Developing microservices and infrastructure for a high-availability messaging platform. Creating and maintaining APIs for platform management. Actively participating in an Agile development team. Conducting testing, verification, and troubleshooting. Providing 3rd line support to 1st line support teams. Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations in software designs. Following best practices for secure development processes. Researching and evaluating new technologies to enhance maintainability, performance, and functionality. Documenting design specifications, test procedures, and project updates.

About you





3-4 years of experience in software development, or strong skills shown in a project portfolio. Good knowledge of .NET development and modern software development patterns and practices. Proficiency in C#, Python, .NET 8.0+, Entity Framework. Experience with SQL Server, T-SQL, DML, DDL, and stored procedures. Familiarity with NoSQL databases (especially Redis or equivalents). Experience with Kubernetes/Docker. Unit testing (nUnit/Moq or similar). Good communication and collaboration skills. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Desirable Skills



Experience with Azure DevOps. Experience with cloud systems (AWS or Azure). Knowledge of K8s Operators or Helm charts. Experience with messaging systems (like Kafka). Experience with modern web frameworks (such as Angular, React, Svelte, or Vue.js).
