JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MMC Logistics is seeking a Software Tester to ensure that business-critical applications and systems used in our logistics, warehousing and transport operations meet performance, reliability and compliance standards. The role will focus on testing new systems, monitoring existing applications, and providing assurance that IT solutions support operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute test plans, scripts and schedules for IT systems and applications.

Test Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transport Management Systems (TMS), and handheld/mobile driver applications prior to deployment.

Identify, record and track software defects, ensuring timely resolution.

Validate upgrades, patches and new releases to minimise disruption to business operations.

Work closely with developers, business analysts and IT support staff to ensure system requirements are met.

Produce test reports and recommendations for improvements.

Ensure IT systems comply with internal quality standards, security requirements and industry regulations.

Support continuous improvement by analysing recurring system issues and proposing preventive measures.

REQUIREMENTS

Essential:

Experience in IT quality assurance, testing or a related IT professional role.

Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, tools and processes.

Ability to analyse requirements and create detailed test cases.

Competence in identifying and documenting defects clearly.

Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable:

Experience with logistics, warehousing or transport management systems (WMS/TMS).

Familiarity with automated testing tools and techniques.

Knowledge of ITIL practices or related IT service management frameworks.
