Summary

The Software Tester will be responsible for validating the quality, functionality, and performance of software applications through both manual and automated testing methods. The role involves working closely with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure that software meets business requirements and user expectations. The ideal candidate should have experience in test planning, test case creation, defect tracking, and the use of testing tools such as Selenium, JIRA, TestRail, or similar. Familiarity with Agile development practices, CI/CD pipelines, and testing APIs and web/mobile applications is essential.

Roles and Responsibilities

Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases based on business and technical requirements. Conduct functional, regression, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing across various platforms. Utilize tools like Selenium, Postman, or SoapUI to automate test scripts for web and API testing. Work closely with developers and business analysts to identify and troubleshoot defects and inconsistencies. Report bugs using defect tracking tools such as JIRA and monitor them through to resolution. Document and maintain detailed test results, test evidence, and release sign-off materials. Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives in Agile development environments. Support CI/CD integration by incorporating automated tests into the pipeline using Jenkins or similar tools. Contribute to the maintenance of testing environments and test data. Ensure adherence to QA standards and best practices, with a focus on improving testing efficiency and accuracy. Stay updated with the latest trends and tools in testing to continually enhance QA processes.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in software testing roles. Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and processes. Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium WebDriver, JUnit, TestNG). Experience in testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman or SoapUI. Understanding of CI/CD and experience working with pipelines in tools like Jenkins or Azure DevOps. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like JIRA and Confluence. Basic understanding of SQL for data validation. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly document defects and reports.

Pay: 36,000.00-45,000.00 per year
