The Role

We are seeking a Solar Design Engineer to join our expanding Renewables team. This role will support the design and development of commercial Solar PV systems, producing accurate layouts, technical documentation, and performance models under the guidance of senior engineers.

You will work on a variety of projects including rooftop, ground-mounted, and solar carport installations, with opportunities to contribute to integrated decarbonisation and energy transition schemes.

Key Responsibilities

Design and model Solar PV systems using AutoCAD, PVSol, and PVsyst
Produce layout drawings, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials Ensure designs comply with MCS, IEC, and NEC standards Assist with DNO / grid connection documentation Support feasibility studies and tender submissions Liaise with project delivery teams to support successful installations Contribute to O&M manuals and as-built documentation

Essential Requirements

Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline 1-3 years' experience in Solar PV design (including internships or placement roles) Proficiency in AutoCAD Strong attention to detail with a good understanding of electrical systems Ability to commute to the job's location

Desirable Skills & Experience

Experience with PVSol and PVsyst
Knowledge of mounting system software (e.g. K2, VDV) Familiarity with SolarEdge, Helioscope, or similar platforms Awareness of renewable energy incentives, ESS, and hybrid energy solutions

Salary & Benefits
