Job Description

The Role

As a Certified Electrical Solar Engineer, you'll play a key role in the installation,

commissioning, and maintenance of domestic, commercial, and industrial solar PV systems.

You'll work alongside skilled roofers and other trades to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient

installations that help drive the UK's transition to renewable energy.

What You'll Do

Install, test, and commission solar PV systems (roof- and ground-mounted).

Carry out electrical works including inverters, isolators, DC/AC cabling, and grid connections.

Perform planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, and remedial works.

Ensure compliance with BS 7671 (18th Edition), G98/G99 standards, and MCS requirements.

Complete electrical certification and commissioning documentation.

Follow all health & safety requirements, including RAMS and safe working at height.

Provide technical advice to clients and support junior engineers/apprentices.

What We're Looking For

Solar PV Qualification (essential).

NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (or equivalent).

18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).

Valid ECS/JIB Gold Card (or working towards/can provide this via training if not).

Proven experience with PV system installs, testing & commissioning.

Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable (but not essential)

City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing).

Battery storage installation qualification.

IPAF / PASMA / Working at Height.

EV charger installation experience.
