Job Purpose
The requirement is for a NQ - 3 PQE Solicitor for a full-time role in our Manchester office [M3]. The experienced and successful Solicitor will be well-practiced within Claimant Clinical & Medical Negligence matters with a strong track record of assisting with or independently conducting litigation on multi track clinical negligence cases. You will be expected to provide an exceptional legal service and advice to client, always operating with a 'client first' mind-set.
You will have a unique opportunity to work closely with our highly reputable Partner/Head of the Clinical Negligence team to establish yourself well within the department and firm.
Competency Requirements
Responsible for managing a focused caseload of claimant Clinical negligence cases from initial instruction to resolution of the claim.
Providing clients with high quality, attentive and proactive legal advice.
Providing assistance to other members within the team.
Effective time-management, punctuality and organisation skills
Achieving the business's time recording and settlement/fee targets and assisting and enabling others in the team to do so.
Delivering legal services in a manner which is cost-efficient for both the client and the firm.
Enhancing the firm's reputation and position within the community by developing a professional reputation, participating in professional and community activities to support the firm.
Contributing to the firm's general marketing initiatives by participating in firm's marketing events including; networking, seminars and writing marketing material.
The ability to provide solutions for clients and communicate this in a way that they can understand, both in writing and on the telephone.
A detailed approach to your the work and the ability to work to tight timescales when required.
Highly organised and highly detail orientated.
Good understanding of the medical profession with the ability to undertake medical research and to be able to apply this to cases.
Ability to undertake legal research and consider quantum.
Demonstrating strong drafting skills including drafting letters of claim, letters of instructions to experts, instructions to counsel, preparing schedules of loss and drafting claim forms.
Experience of instructing and working with Counsel to progress cases.
The ability to work on or towards managing complex multi- track cases.
Skills & Qualifications
NQ- 3 PQE as a Solicitor Practiced in Clinical/Medical Negligence
Significant experience of claimant clinical negligence practice.
Experience of clinical/Medical negligence cases from instruction to legal completion (including post litigation), in addition to building and maintaining effective client relationships.
