We are seeking a driven Solicitor (NQ - 3 years PQE) to join a highly regarded Local Authority Team in Wigan.

About the Role

- Manage a dynamic portfolio of litigated cases, including high-value disputes across Magistrates Court, Valuation Tribunal, County Court, and the High Court.

- Deliver strategic legal advice and representation for public sector clients, with a focus on council tax, non-domestic rates, and adult social care recovery.

- Play a pivotal role in challenging complex rates mitigation schemes and novel local government disputes.

- Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team, mentoring junior colleagues and driving excellent outcomes on challenging cases.

What We're Looking For

- Qualified Solicitor (NQ-3 years PQE) with strong academics - this is a technical, challenging environment.

- Experience in litigation or disputed matters, ideally within debt recovery, insolvency, property litigation, or public law. Comparable technical backgrounds considered for retraining.

- Excellent written communication and analytical skills.

- Proactive, client-focused approach and problem-solving mindset.

- Team player committed to knowledge-sharing and professional growth.

Salary & Benefits

- 40,000 - 50,000 starting salary, dependent on experience.

- Quarterly bonuses for fee-earning teams (post-probation, based on team billing achievement).
