We currently have a vacancy for a Solicitor post to enable the Council to meet the growing demand for services to vulnerable adults and to support the council to meet its statutory duties under the Care Act 2014 and associated legislation.

The Council has a fully flexible working system that includes home/hybrid working, with adaptable working hours subject to meeting our clients and court's needs. The current salary (pay award pending) is up to 58,865 (award pending) plus benefits including:

We want you to join our supportive, dynamic and growing team dealing with high profile and challenging cases, covering all aspects of adult social care including court of protection, deprivation of liberty, mental capacity, mental health, no recourse to public funds and supporting the Council's priorities that people in Southampton live safe, healthy, independent lives, with foundations for life.
The Council is looking for a practicing Solicitor, Barrister or CiLeX with advocacy, negotiating and advisory skills and competence with IT and case management systems. Your attitude is important, you will have an enabling, positive approach to finding solutions to complex problems.

The salary band for this role is 52,413 - 58,865. The
starting salary is 52,413
with annual progression through the salary bands.
