The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a
Private Client Solicitor or Legal Executive
to join our reputable and successful firm in Birmingham. You will manage your own caseload of private client matters, with opportunities for long-term progression, including leading the department and managing a team.
Key Responsibilities
Essential:
Drafting wills and trusts
Preparing probate applications
Drafting and advising on LPAs
Court of Protection applications and advising elderly/vulnerable clients
Contentious and non-contentious probate
Drafting deeds of variation and gifts
Administration of estates (small and large) and trusts
Liaising with solicitors, Probate Registry, Land Registry, OPG, and other third parties as required
Desirable:
Advising on trusts for pensions and life insurance policies
Advising on inheritance tax and tax mitigation strategies
Elderly client advice
Estate planning for asset protection (tax minimisation, care fees, creditor protection)
Building strong relationships with IFAs, accountants, clients, and other departments within the firm
Main Purpose of the Role
Undertake fee-earning work and contribute profitably to the department.
Support the firm's growth in line with its business plan.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum
2+ years PQE
in broad-spectrum private client work
Excellent track record with a strong academic background
Solid experience managing your own caseload
Salary dependant on experience.
