We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Employment Solicitor or paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of employment law and demonstrate exceptional communication and organisational skills. This role involves providing expert legal advice to clients on various employment-related matters, ensuring compliance with current legislation, and representing clients in disputes. Please note that experience as a practising employment lawyer is required. This is not a trainee position.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive legal advice on employment law issues, including contracts, dismissals, and discrimination claims.
Draft and review legal documents such as contracts of employment, settlement agreements, and policies.
Represent clients in negotiations and litigation, ensuring their interests are effectively advocated.
Conduct thorough research on relevant laws and regulations to support case preparation.
Maintain accurate records of client interactions and case progress using Microsoft Office applications.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop strategies for complex cases and share best practices.
Stay updated on changes in employment legislation and case law to provide informed guidance to clients.
Be commercially minded
Be able to network effectively to build the department
Qualifications
Qualified solicitor with a valid practising certificate, paralegal or experienced considered.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and IT systems relevant to legal practice.
Experienced in using case management systems
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
