CAD Engineer (SOLIDWORKS) - Mechanical Components

4 days pw - Immediate start if possible

OUTSIDE IR35

Experienced CAD Engineer with strong mechanical design expertise to support a short-term project starting Mid January 2026 for minimum 3 months.

Key focus:

Design of mechanical components such as hinges, pivots, dampers, and door closers, producing accurate, production-ready CAD models and engineering drawings.

What we're looking for:

Proven experience designing mechanical components, fabrication, metal components, extrusions (i.e.hinges, pivots, closers, dampers).
Strong CAD capability SolidWorks.
GD&T
Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, tolerances, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Ability to translate engineering requirements into robust, manufacturable designs.
Detail-driven with strong design verification and problem-solving skills.
Comfortable collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams.

Ideally:Own CAD licence and hardware - but not a deal breaker.
South-East UK based, with availability to travel to Kent for ad-hoc support.
Open to hybrid working.
Majority of design work expected in the first 3 months, reducing to ad-hoc thereafter.
