This full-time position (Monday to Thursday - we don't work Fridays), reporting to the Head of Technical Sales, and works closely with a range of clients from understanding their technical problems (pre-sales) through to project delivery.


What we're looking for:




We are looking for an excellent communicator who brings experience and enthusiasm for applying machine learning to the nuclear sector - combining two of the most exciting technologies of our time. You will have experience (either commercial or academic) in fusion or fission, and will work with our clients through technical pre-sales and solution delivery of our machine learning platform and services.


We are looking for someone who can work with our clients to understand their challenges and opportunities, and come up with innovative applications of our technology to solve them. You are a creative problem-solver who enjoys a mix between purely technical work and client interaction with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What you will be doing with us:




As a Solutions Engineer at digiLab, you will be responsible for:


Providing customers with technical support throughout the pre-sales process Designing & scoping technical solutions and working with our internal teams to produce project proposals including cost and time estimates Delivery of digiLab services and products through ongoing technical support and domain expertise. Working with other members of the digiLab team including Business Development & Sales, R&D, Product Development and Project Delivery to provide client feedback and ensure successful delivery. Utilising domain knowledge and customer relationships to identify new business opportunities Staying up to date with sector developments including competitors, trends, technologies etc Providing demonstrations/presentations, attending events/conferences, creating articles and enhancing digiLab visibility and credibility Communicating the value and benefits of digiLab's products and services to potential customers. Working to deepen your understanding of digiLab's products and services - identifying sector challenges that The Uncertainty Engine can address, and sharing insights to shape product development and team learning

What Skills & Experience we are looking for:




Experience (either through postgraduate study or commercially) working in either fusion or fission or a closely related industry. STEM degree education (an Engineering or Physics degree or equivalent is highly desirable).

A desire to master new areas such as data science, machine learning, uncertainty quantification.

Strong communication skills, with an ability to dissect complex technical concepts, and explain them to stakeholders with a range of technical competencies.

A strategic mindset - able to recognise and analyse opportunities and capabilities. Strong interest in business and partnerships; keen to develop commercial relationships and guide product and technology to capture market opportunities.

In addition, some 'nice to haves' are:




Technical domain expertise within one or more of the following engineering domains: nuclear fission, mechanical, materials, digital, or systems engineering. Computationally competent, with experience performing data analysis (Python experience and modelling capabilities, though not essential, would be an asset) Previous experience in a technical Pre-Sales, Business Development, Consultancy or comparable role.

Location:




This role is based onsite at our Oxford office (at the Culham Innovation Centre). It also involves frequent travel to client sites and attendance at conferences both within the UK and occasionally internationally.
