Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and professional Somali Interpreter to facilitate clear and accurate communication. The interpreter will work in various public service settings, including legal, medical, and social services, to ensure effective and confidential communication.
Key Responsibilities
Provide accurate interpretation
in a variety of settings (e.g., consecutive, simultaneous, sight translation) to convey the original meaning, tone, and intent of the speakers.Adhere strictly to professional ethics
and standards, including confidentiality and impartiality.Maintain professionalism
and cultural sensitivity during all assignments.Prepare for assignments
by reviewing relevant terminology or context to ensure accuracy.Manage time effectively
and be punctual for all scheduled appointments.Qualifications and Requirements
Education/Certification:
Certification:
CIL2, CIL3 or DPSILanguage Proficiency:
Fluent in Somali and English, both verbally and in writing. Proven experience as an interpreter in a public service setting is highly desirable. Experience working with diverse communities is a plus.Other:
A valid and current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service)check is mandatory. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Flexibility to work on an as-needed basis.Job Types: Part-time, Freelance
Pay: 15.00-20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2 per week
Work Location: On the road
