We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Sommelier to join our esteemed restaurant team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of wines and beverages, coupled with exceptional hospitality skills. As a Sommelier, you will be responsible for curating an exquisite wine list, guiding guests through their selections, and enhancing their dining experience with your expertise.
Duties
Develop and maintain an extensive wine list that complements the restaurant's menu.
Provide recommendations to guests based on their preferences and food pairings.
Conduct wine tastings and educate staff on wine selections and proper serving techniques.
Ensure all wines are stored correctly, maintaining optimal conditions for quality preservation.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to create harmonious pairings between food and beverages.
Assist in training staff on wine service, including pouring techniques and glassware selection.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering to ensure a well-stocked cellar.
Uphold high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with regulations.
Experience
Previous experience in a hospitality role is essential, preferably within a restaurant or catering environment.
Knowledge of food preparation processes is advantageous to enhance guest experiences.
Experience in bartending is beneficial for understanding beverage service dynamics.
Familiarity with food safety practices is required to maintain compliance within the establishment.
A passion for wines, along with relevant certifications or training in sommelier practices, will be highly regarded.
