We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team for our Thai Restaurant. As a vital part of our kitchen operations, the Sous Chef will assist the Head Chef in managing daily food preparation, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring adherence to food safety standards. Duties
Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations.
Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow.
Oversee food preparation processes, maintaining high standards of presentation and taste.
Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed across all kitchen activities.
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and minimise waste to optimise operational efficiency.
Monitor cooking processes to guarantee consistency in quality and presentation.
Support the training of junior staff members in food preparation, cooking techniques, and safety procedures.
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment in accordance with health regulations.
Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
Skills
Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment.
Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production and preparation.
Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff effectively.
Proficiency in cooking techniques across various cuisines and styles. Previous experience in a busy kitchen, preferably in Thai or Oriental cuisine.
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable.
Leadership qualities with the ability to oversee multiple tasks simultaneously under pressure.
Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and other departments effectively.
Passion for delivering high-quality service and continuous improvement in culinary standards.
