The Shoregate is a beautifully restored 19th-century restaurant and bar with four bedrooms in the heart of Crail, a popular historic fishing village near to St Andrews.

The Role



We're looking for a

Sous Chef

who wants to cook with flair, creativity and integrity. Someone who enjoys a changing menu, takes pride in what they can create, and relishes working in a close-knit kitchen where everyone's ideas matter.

You'll work alongside our Head Chef to:

Run the kitchen in their absence Lead preparation and service across all sections Assist with menu development and seasonal dish creation Maintain exceptional standards of hygiene, organisation and stock control Train and support junior chefs Contribute to a collaborative and respectful workplace

Who We're Looking For



A chef with solid experience at Sous, Junior Sous or very strong CDP level Someone confident with seasonal cooking and modern Scottish flavours Calm, organised, and reliable in service Collaborative, curious, and keen to keep learning Interested in sustainability and local sourcing of top produce
