We are seeking a passionate and driven sous chef to join the team at The Castle Edge Hill . The ideal sous chef will have extensive experience in high volume, quality-driven kitchens; able to maintain high standards whilst delivering outstanding guest experiences. As a sous chef you will work closely with the head chef, creating seasonal menus, blending classic pub fare with innovative chef-led cuisine using the freshest local ingredients.

Sous Chef Responsibilities

Oversee daily kitchen operations, supervising and managing all kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation. Assist with development of seasonal menus that reflect current trends and customer preferences. Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and quality control in compliance with all health regulations. Manage all food stock, supplier relationships, and purchasing to ensure quality and cost efficiency. Lead and train a team of chefs alongside the head chef. Work collaboratively with FOH management to ensure a seamless service experience. Control food cost and labor budgets, reduce waste, and maximize profitability. Lead by example in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
