Job Overview


We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and kitchen management, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills and a commitment to food safety. As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen, supporting the Head Chef in delivering high-quality dishes that meet our guests' expectations.

Responsibilities



Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and managing staff. Supervise food preparation and cooking processes to maintain high standards of quality and presentation. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organised kitchen environment. Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team atmosphere. Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed. Handle any customer inquiries or complaints regarding food quality or service. Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure proper usage among staff.

Skills



Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment. Strong background in food production and preparation techniques. Excellent team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others. Proficient cooking skills with a solid understanding of various culinary methods. Extensive kitchen experience, including familiarity with different cuisines. Culinary experience that showcases creativity and attention to detail in dish presentation. Knowledge of hospitality standards and customer service excellence. Strong leadership abilities to guide the team effectively while maintaining morale. Comprehensive understanding of food safety practices and regulations. Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, ideally in a fast-paced setting.
