This is a

daytime-focused role

with the occasional evening for pop-up events, offering an excellent work-life balance alongside the chance to be part of a busy, high-volume kitchen regularly averaging 300 covers daily over lunch.

Package & Benefits

The Role

As Sous Chef, you'll play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day kitchen operations, supporting the Head Chef, and helping to maintain consistently high standards. Responsibilities include:

Overseeing food preparation and cooking processes Maintaining food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards Supervising and motivating kitchen staff Assisting with menu development and daily prep Delivering great quality dishes during peak service (especially lunch)

Candidate Profile

We're looking for a passionate, reliable, and experienced chef who thrives in a busy kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have:

At least 2 years' kitchen experience Strong organisational and teamwork skills Weekend availability and flexibility to cover holidays A commitment to cleanliness, food safety, and high standards The ability to drive to and from Coggeshall (remote location limits public transport)
