Position Overview
We are seeking a talented and ambitious Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. This is a unique opportunity for a culinary professional who is eager to develop their leadership skills and progress to senior management within our growing business. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, working closely with the Group Chef Director and wider management team, and will be supported in their growth towards a senior leadership position within one year.
Main Responsibilities
Assist the Group Chef Director in managing all aspects of the kitchen, including menu development, food preparation, and staff supervision.
Oversee kitchen operations during service and at events, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene.
Support with the recruitment, training, and mentoring of junior kitchen staff.
Monitor stock levels, manage orders, and maintain cost controls in line with company policies.
Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and health and safety standards.
Contribute ideas for menu innovation and seasonal changes, reflecting current food trends and customer preferences.
Collaborate closely with front-of-house and management teams to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
Act as a role model and champion of company values within the kitchen and wider business.
Key Requirements
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a busy kitchen environment.
NVQ Level 3 in Professional Cookery or equivalent qualification is preffered
Must have Strong leadership, Highly organised with great communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to motivate and develop team members.
Keen attention to detail and commitment to delivering consistently excellent food.
Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure during busy service periods.
Passion for food, creativity, and a willingness to embrace new ideas.
Ambition to grow professionally, with a clear interest in progressing to a senior management role.
Experience in events or high volume catering
