Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist the Head Chef in managing daily operations, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. This role offers an excellent opportunity for career development within a vibrant hospitality environment. this is a 7 day operation working 5 out of 7 days either on early or late shifts.
Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards.
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance monitoring.
Oversee food production processes to ensure efficiency, consistency, and adherence to health and safety regulations.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
Support in inventory management, including stock control and ordering supplies as needed.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Contribute to menu development by suggesting new dishes and seasonal specials.
Ensure all food preparation meets quality standards and presentation expectations.
Skills
Proven supervising experience within a busy culinary environment.
Extensive food production and preparation skills across a variety of cuisines.
Strong team management capabilities with excellent leadership qualities.
Proficiency in cooking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen equipment operation.
Experience working in hospitality or restaurant settings with a focus on high standards of service.
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team.
