Your Core Purpose
To support the Head Chef in delivering an exceptional food offering, maintaining outstanding standards, and ensuring the kitchen operates with consistency, efficiency and flair.
Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Service
Prepare, cook and present dishes to specification with accuracy, speed and consistency
Assist in the development of menus, specials and seasonal dishes
Maintain portion control and quality across all service periods
Ensure timely service during peak periods while upholding high standards
Kitchen Leadership
Support and deputise for the Head Chef in their absence
Lead junior chefs and kitchen assistants with clear direction and confidence
Foster a positive, disciplined and cooperative kitchen environment
Train, mentor and develop team members to strengthen kitchen capability
Compliance & Standards
Uphold all food hygiene, safety and allergen procedures to the highest standard
Ensure strict adherence to HACCP requirements and kitchen documentation
Maintain a spotless kitchen environment with rigorous cleaning routines
Oversee stock rotation, labelling, daily checks and waste management
Operational Excellence
Assist with ordering, stock control and supplier communication
Manage prep schedules and ensure readiness for each service
Work collaboratively with Front of House to guarantee smooth service flow
Contribute to the continuous improvement of kitchen systems and efficiencies
