Job Description

We are looking for a Sous Chef to support our head chef in delivering consistent, good quality food to spec. It's a Marstons pub and we offer their signature menu and have very busy Sunday dinners. There will be loan working shifts as well as chefs working with 1-2 other chefs.

Duties

Oversee food production processes to ensure consistency, presentation, and adherence to recipes Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards in compliance with health regulations Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory efficiently Support in creating a positive team environment by fostering collaboration and motivation Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained and operated safely

Requirements

Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment Extensive food production, preparation, and cooking skills Strong team management capabilities with leadership qualities Solid background in food safety practices and hygiene standards Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is essential Knowledge of food presentation and serving techniques Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure Passion for culinary excellence and continuous learning in the hospitality industry Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required
