Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic team in a family run business in The Forest of Dean. The ideal candidate will possess cooking skills, a passion for food production, and previous kitchen experience. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety, and managing the culinary team to deliver exceptional dining experiences. This role offers an exciting opportunity for career development within a vibrant hospitality environment. This position is weekend based with additional hours available during the evening.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in preparing menus, ensuring consistency and quality across all dishes. Oversee food production processes, maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with regulations Coordinate daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and serving Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies to ensure smooth kitchen workflow Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times Support the restaurant team during service hours to ensure efficient customer service and satisfaction

Qualifications

Proven experience within a professional kitchen environment Culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and presentation Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations Experience in food production and restaurant service operations Strong understanding of hospitality principles and customer service excellence Previous experience working in a busy restaurant setting is preferred Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From 13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 13 - 22 per week
