Duties
Assist the Head Chef in supervising daily kitchen operations and managing staff
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure high-quality standards are met
Support in developing new menu items and maintaining consistency in food presentation
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and minimise waste
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment
Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service delivery
Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area
Serve as a role model in professional conduct and culinary excellence during service hours
Skills
Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment
Strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
Excellent team management and leadership abilities
Sound knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
Experience working in restaurants or hospitality settings with a focus on quality service
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure
Good communication skills to effectively lead and motivate staff
Familiarity with food presentation standards and culinary innovation
Previous experience in serving or hospitality is advantageous but not essential
