We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. This role involves supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety are maintained. Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency, presentation, and adherence to recipes
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in compliance with health regulations
Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service delivery
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies to minimise waste and control costs
Support the development of new dishes and menu innovations
Ensure cleanliness of the kitchen environment at all times, including equipment maintenance and sanitation
Skills
Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment
Strong knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff
Extensive culinary experience with a focus on quality presentation and flavour balance
Good understanding of food safety standards and regulations
Previous restaurant experience demonstrating adaptability under pressure
Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality setting
Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen operations
