Sous Chef / Deputy Head Chef - Live in available
We are looking for an experienced chef to join our friendly, professional team. This is a busy country pub with a great reputation for food so the successful candidate will need a strong track record of working with quality fresh ingredients and preparing dishes from scratch.
Core requirements:-
Being able to cook - might sound obvious given the job but we use lots of fresh ingredients and make a lot of our food from scratch - it's not all 'ping-ping' or 'freezer to fryer'!
An excellent understanding of Food Hygiene legislation and the discipline to work within those guidelines.
You will be expected to get involved with menu development, stock control and ordering
Actively involved in the day to day running of the kitchen, ensuring that each plate sent out is as good as it can be!
Assisting in the management and support of the kitchen team
We are in hospitality, so weekends and evenings will be required (but the kitchen closes at 8pm)
