Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our kitchen team in Dundee. Our food style is highly preparation-focused, allowing for calm, efficient service with an emphasis on modern presentation and refined plating.

While experience and technical ability are important, we are equally focused on finding someone who shares our enthusiasm for creating elegant, contemporary dishes. The ideal candidate will have at least one year's experience working as a Sous Chef, strong food knowledge, and the confidence to lead a small team independently during the Head Chef's two days off each week.

You should be a natural leader with a solid understanding of HACCP, EHO standards, and the day-to-day systems required to run a well-organised, efficient kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:



Support the Head Chef in the overall management of kitchen operations Contribute to menu planning and development, maintaining high standards and creativity Supervise food preparation and cooking to ensure consistency and quality Manage stock levels and assist with ordering supplies Maintain full compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations Train, guide, and oversee kitchen team members Work closely with front-of-house staff to deliver seamless service Assist in developing new dishes and refining existing recipes

Requirements and Experience:



Previous experience as a Sous Chef or in a comparable senior kitchen role Strong understanding of culinary techniques and professional kitchen practices Confident leadership and clear communication skills Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment Excellent organisation and attention to detail Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when required

Pay: 30,000.00-32,000.00 per year
