Sous Chef
to join our kitchen team and help deliver consistently excellent food for our guests.
Role Overview
As Sous Chef, you'll be the second-in-command in the kitchen, supporting the Head Chef in all aspects of food preparation, service, and kitchen management. You'll help lead the team, maintain high standards of quality and hygiene, and contribute to menu development focused on traditional British dishes.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations.
Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes from our traditional British pub menu.
Oversee kitchen operations in the Head Chef's absence.
Support with training, mentoring, and managing junior kitchen staff.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and allergen regulations.
Maintain stock levels, assist with ordering, and minimise food waste.
Contribute ideas for specials, seasonal menus, and classic dishes.
Ensure consistent portioning, presentation, and quality control.
Uphold a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
About You
Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie ready to step up.
Passionate about traditional British cuisine and pub classics.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, service-focused kitchen.
Knowledge of food safety standards (Level 2 or 3 Food Hygiene preferred).
Creative, reliable, and committed to high standards.
Able to work flexible shifts, including weekends and evenings.
