Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety. This role requires strong leadership abilities and a commitment to culinary excellence, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and food preparation, ensuring all dishes meet our high culinary standards. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food production and service. Maintain food safety and hygiene standards in accordance with health regulations. Oversee inventory management, including ordering and stock control of kitchen supplies using our software. Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new recipes and improve existing offerings. Assist in managing kitchen operations during peak service times, ensuring timely delivery of meals. Help maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.

Experience

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant setting is essential. Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and supervising kitchen staff. Comprehensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary arts, and food safety practices. Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills to foster teamwork within the kitchen environment. A passion for cooking and creativity in developing new dishes is highly desirable.
