Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and presentation. This position requires strong leadership abilities and a commitment to maintaining food safety and quality. You will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, assisting with menu planning, and ensuring that all dishes are prepared to perfection.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and service Assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes in accordance with our restaurant's standards Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative team environment Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu development and special events Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area Monitor food presentation and quality before serving to guests

Experience

Proven experience in a culinary role, preferably within a restaurant environment Strong supervisory experience with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively Comprehensive knowledge of food production techniques and culinary skills Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices Excellent leadership qualities with a passion for hospitality Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, and serving is essential A background in culinary arts or related field is advantageous
