Job Overview



We are seeking a skilled, motivated, and passionate Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in leading the kitchen team from day one. This is a hands-on role ideal for a chef who thrives in busy services, takes pride in consistency and quality, and enjoys developing both food and people.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining high culinary standards, ensuring smooth day-to-day kitchen operations, and supporting the development of the wider kitchen team.

Responsibilities



Support the Head Chef in the daily management of the kitchen and service operations.
Lead kitchen sections during service, ensuring speed, consistency, and quality at all times.
Maintain excellent standards of food preparation, cooking, and presentation across the menu.
Assist with mise-en-place planning, service flow, and effective time management.
Support stock control, ordering, deliveries, and stock rotation to minimise waste and control costs.
Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures at all times.
Lead by example in maintaining a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment.
Train, support, and mentor junior chefs, promoting teamwork and professional development.
Step into leadership during Head Chef absence when required.
Contribute ideas to menu development, specials, and seasonal dishes.

What We're Looking For



Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef in a fast-paced, quality-led restaurant.
Solid understanding of Italian cuisine, fresh produce, and core cooking techniques.
Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining high standards.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
A positive, team-focused attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
Passion for food, consistency, and delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 33,000.00-43,000.00 per year
