Duties
Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance monitoring
Oversee food production processes to ensure consistency, presentation, and adherence to recipes
Prepare ingredients and cook dishes according to established recipes and standards
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management to minimise waste
Ensure all food safety procedures are followed diligently across all kitchen operations
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
Support the development of new menu items and culinary innovations
Skills
Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team
Excellent understanding of food safety standards and regulations
Experience in hospitality or restaurant settings with a focus on high-quality service delivery
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure during busy service periods
Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making
Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and management
