Duties
Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing a variety of dishes in accordance with menu specifications.
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to health and safety regulations.
Oversee food production processes, maintaining high standards of presentation and taste.
Coordinate food preparation activities to ensure timely service during busy periods.
Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock ordering, and manage storage to minimise waste.
Enforce strict food safety procedures and hygiene standards across all kitchen operations.
Support training programmes for junior staff to develop their culinary skills and knowledge.
Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen environment.
Strong background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques.
Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively under pressure.
Extensive kitchen experience, including culinary expertise across various cuisines.
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hospitality settings.
Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently during peak times.
Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and front-of-house staff effectively.
