A rare opportunity to join a small passionate team using the very best produce and equipment but allowing for a better work life balance. Generally shifts run from Mon-Fri 7-4pm with some evening work required for chef tables and dinners.
Working alongside and reporting to the Head chef you will be tasked with ensuring the smooth day to day running of the kitchen and involved in the planning of the monthly changing seasonal menu. The menu is built around British seasonal produce using the best ingredients from small producers where ever possible and a real focus on reduced wastage using as much of the raw product as possible. Large roof garden means the menus are designed on what is available from the garden on a monthly basis.
The roles would suit candidates with strong restaurant backgrounds and experience in a Michelin kitchen is preferable but not essential depending on the candidate. Our Head Chef has spent the last 10 years working in some of the best restaurants across the world ensuring that staff are constantly learning and developing whilst also being allowed to bring their own ideas and dishes to the fore.

• Food Preparation - prepare and cook dishes according to the recipes and standards set by the head chef; ensuring food safety standards are adhered to at all time.
• Station Management - oversee the production of all dishes assigned to your station and upkeep your designated area with supplies and ensuring cleanliness in line with policies and procedures.
• Quality Control - maintain high quality standards for all dishes, ensuring presentation and taste is considered at all times.
• Team Collaboration - communicate positively and effectively with all other team members and assist/support all colleagues where necessary. Coaching of junior chefs to support development.
• Menu Development - collaborate with head chef to develop and taste new recipes, providing suggestions for improvement or innovation.
• Cleaning and Maintenance - maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen including your designated area ensuring equipment is in good working order.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working as a Commis Chef or similar role.
• Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
