We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the head chef, overseeing daily kitchen operations, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality dishes. Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and presentation of a diverse range of dishes, ensuring consistency and quality.
Supervise kitchen staff during service, providing guidance and support to maintain efficient workflow.
Manage food production processes, including portion control and adherence to recipes.
Oversee food safety protocols and ensure compliance with hygiene standards at all times.
Support the training and development of junior team members, fostering a positive team environment.
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
Assist in menu planning and contribute creative ideas for new dishes.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring health and safety regulations are met.
Requirements
Proven experience in a similar role within a busy restaurant or hospitality setting.
Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance.
Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail.
Team management skills with a focus on motivating staff and fostering teamwork.
Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are desirable but not essential.
