The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences. As a vital part of our kitchen operations, the Sous Chef will support the Head Chef in managing daily food preparation, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. We are looking for a talented and motivated Sous Chef to join us at The Pheasant Inn as we relaunch following a full refurbishment, new menus and a renewed focus on honest, seasonal food done properly.

About the food
Our menus are rooted in classic pub cooking, elevated through:

The role
Supporting the Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations
Helping develop and deliver new menus
Maintaining high standards of food quality and consistency
Managing sections confidently during service
Training and supporting junior chefs
Ensuring food hygiene, stock control and kitchen organisation are kept to a high standard
Playing a key role in shaping the future of the kitchen as the business grows
Who we're looking for
A passionate, reliable Sous Chef with solid kitchen experience
Someone who genuinely cares about food, ingredients and standards
Strong organisational skills and calm under pressure
A team player who leads by example
Experience in fresh food kitchens is essential
Ambition to grow with the business and take pride in what we're building

Full-time position, including some breakfast shifts, evenings and weekends.
