Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our team at our restaurant in Knutsford.

At April's, our passion is to deliver a truly unique dining experience, one which is completely removed from the everyday. April's menu is a continually evolving repertoire; some classics, some reworking of old favourites plus new dishes for each season.

Sous chef duties include



Assist the Head Chef in planning, preparing and delivering our food menu - especially our brunch and lunch specialties. Oversee daily kitchen operations: food prep, cooking, plating, ensuring consistency and quality. Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety (HACCP, food safety etc). Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff when required. Help with inventory control, stock rotation, ordering and supplier liaison. Contribute ideas and creativity for menu updates, specials and seasonal changes. Ensure timely, efficient service commensurate with our brand of elegant but casual dining.

Who are we looking for?



A dynamic chef with proven experience (preferably in a similar up-market casual dining restaurant). Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation, portion control and cost management. Excellent organisational skills, the ability to handle pressure during service. A passion for producing beautifully plated dishes, with attention to detail. Good leadership qualities and ability to work collaboratively in a small team. Commitment to upholding hygiene and safety standards. Flexibility to work early starts, weekends and busy brunch/lunch covers - as required in our trade.

Hours



40 guaranteed hours per week

Benefits



Up to 16 per hour Excellent tips averaging over 3 per hour Paid overtime available but not compulsory Free food on shift 50% off food anytime Christmas day, Boxing day & New years day off
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to 16.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

Chefs: 1 year (preferred) Chef: 1 year (required)
