Responsibilities
Assist the head chef in developing and executing menu items, ensuring consistency and quality across all dishes
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training new team members and overseeing daily operations
Prepare ingredients and cook dishes according to specified recipes and presentation standards
Monitor food safety practices, ensuring compliance with health regulations and company policies
Oversee food production processes to optimise efficiency while maintaining high standards of quality
Manage stock levels, order supplies, and minimise waste to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Support the team during busy service periods by actively participating in food preparation and serving as needed
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment in accordance with hygiene regulations
Skills
Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
Extensive food production and culinary expertise, including food preparation and cooking techniques
Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead staff effectively
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in a hospitality setting
Experience working in a restaurant or similar hospitality establishment with a focus on customer satisfaction
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure during service hours
