Job Description

A Sous role where our own 1 acre kitchen garden produce is key to everything we do. We want someone with a lot of love to create our menus, which change all the time. Our Senior Chefs are passionate and above all driven to provide our guests with an unforgettable dining experience, creativity is what we do best.

You will assist the the Head Chef in the running of the kitchen, managing one of the 4 sections, providing new ideas for the menu, and managing health and safety, ordering and rotas.

We're seeking Sous with confidence and ability to support a dynamic team. Knowledge of all areas of the kitchen is essential. We want you to be as passionate about modern British food and sustainability as we are. Previous experience in a similar role is necessary.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations Supervise and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service delivery Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory to minimise waste Lead by example in food preparation, cooking, and plating techniques Support training programmes for junior staff to develop their culinary skills and knowledge Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment according to health and safety guidelines

Experience

Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation across various cuisines Demonstrable team management skills with the ability to lead and motivate staff effectively Strong knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP procedures Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is essential A recognised culinary qualification or equivalent professional training is preferred
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 24,420.00-34,172.66 per year
