Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high standards of food preparation.
Supervise and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment and promoting professional development.
Oversee food production, ensuring dishes are prepared to specifications, presented attractively, and served promptly.
Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen areas.
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Assist in menu planning, ingredient sourcing, and inventory management to optimise kitchen efficiency.
Support training programmes for new team members and ongoing staff development initiatives.
Monitor kitchen equipment maintenance and report any issues promptly to minimise downtime.
Experience
Proven supervising experience within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment.
Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation with a strong understanding of culinary techniques.
Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
Solid knowledge of food safety standards and best practices within a professional kitchen setting.
Previous restaurant experience is essential, with familiarity in serving customers as part of a hospitality team highly desirable.
