We're looking for a passionate and experienced

Sous Chef

to join our friendly and fast-paced kitchen team at

Harlestone Heath Garden Centre

This is a

daytime-only role

with no evening work, offering excellent work-life balance and a chance to be part of a supportive, professional team.

Key Responsibilities

As our Sous Chef, you'll support the Head Chef in delivering high-quality food and maintaining smooth kitchen operations. Your role will include:

Assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of fresh, seasonal dishes Leading the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence Maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety Training and mentoring junior kitchen staff Supporting stock control and ordering Ensuring food is consistently cooked to specification and served promptly Contributing to menu development and daily specials

What We're Looking For

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie ready to step up A passion for fresh food and customer satisfaction Strong communication and team leadership skills Ability to thrive in a busy, high-quality kitchen environment A positive, proactive attitude Food hygiene certification (preferred)
